Join us for the 4th Annual UAB Veterans Day 5K presented by Viva Health at Railroad Park — a meaningful community event dedicated to honoring those who have served and supporting the next generation of military-connected students. Since launching in 2023, this event has raised over $33,000 and brought together more than 1,800 participants and 200 volunteers in support of UAB veteran and dependent students. Join volunteers from the Standard Gauge Module Association as they display toy trains from 1906 to 1940. The exhibit is a 448 square foot standard gauge layout decorated for the season, featuring both original and reproduction model trains. Three trains will run each day or night of the exhibit. Make sure to pick up a scavenger hunt sheet when you enter the exhibit to see if you find all the hidden objects on display! Night trains run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-7:30pm. Day trains run Saturday from 1-5pm. No trains run on December 24th.
NBC 15 and Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin have teamed up for the Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger campaign. The campaign will be holding their Grand Finale Phone-A-Thon and Sort-A-Thon as a final campaign push.
