Buckthorn Removal Day at Sibley State Park

Buckthorn Removal Day at Sibley State Park

Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10am-12pm

Join the Sibley State Park Improvement Association and park staff to remove invasive buckthorn.

We’ll be meeting at the Interpretive Center.

Please bring gloves if you have them. Please dress for working outdoors and in dense shrubbery.

Buckthorn is an invasive plant that can displace many shrubs, tall grasses, and small trees. The dense shrubbery threatens the future of our native ecosystems, like the Oak Savannas of the park. Be an Oak Savanna Hero and help remove this invasive plant!
