New Voices in Fiction: A Reading with Harriet Clark

Light refreshments will be served.HarrietClark is the winner of the The Paris Review's Plimpton Prize for her short story "Descent" and has received fellowships from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and the Wallace Stegner program. The Hill is her debut novel.The New Voices Series brings early-career writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to campus to read their work alongside student writers from the University of Chicago. The Program in Creative Writing administers a call for submissions from students and the visiting writers each select a student to introduce and to read before them at their reading. The New Voices Series fosters excitement and builds community among Creative Writing students while providing an occasion for them to share the stage with working writers and for faculty to celebrate their students' work.
