Hip Hop History and Culture

Join local choreographer and educator SugEasy for an interactive discussion of the history and culture of hip hop in America. As a passionate advocate for hip hop’s original missions of peace, love, unity and having fun, SugEasy offers both lived experience and deep knowledge of hip hop history and the cultural movement. Through the lens of hip hop’s creative elements including DJing, emceeing, breaking, graffiti writing and street knowledge, we will explore the roots and evolution of hip hop and its enduring role in self-expression, community building and cultural connection. Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions.
