Moon Prints: Cyanotype & Visual Poetry Workshop

An artist-led exploration of light, memory, and one of the world's oldest photographic processes.

Join us at the Catacombs of Neto Art Museum for an immersive 2½-hour cyanotype workshop where sunlight becomes your creative partner.

Cyanotype is a historic photographic process known for its distinctive, luminous Prussian blue. During this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to create cyanotypes using botanicals, found objects, moon-inspired silhouettes, and thoughtfully curated imagery.

We'll explore composition, layering, light, memory, and visual poetry, inviting you to create artwork that feels both personal and timeless.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Jenny Urbanek is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and founder of Integration Healing and the Catacombs of Neto Art Museum in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. She holds a BFA in Photography from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and an MA in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

With more than 15 years of experience teaching art, Jenny creates welcoming spaces where curiosity, experimentation, and creative expression take center stage.

Her current artistic obsession is cyanotype—a historic photographic process she explores through hand-coated papers, botanicals, photography, collage, and visual storytelling. Her work celebrates the magic of sunlight, the depth of Prussian blue, and the unexpected beauty of experimentation.

Through her workshops, Jenny brings together art, photography, history, and hands-on making, inviting participants to slow down, play, and discover the joy of creating with light.
