A Conversation and Lunch Reception with Poets Nathalie Quintane and Jonathan Larson

The Program in Creative Writing, the Department of Comparative Literature, the Department of English Language & Literature, and the Department of Romance Languages & Literatures presents a conversation about hybrid poetics and contemporary French poetry in relation to political life, featuring Nathalie Quintane and Jonathan Larson. Food will be served.Nathalie Quintane is a French writer who lives and teaches in Digne-les-Baigns, France. She has written more than 25 books, primarily published by P.O.L. and La Fabrique. Quintane was the last recipient of the Prix du Zorba (the Anti-Goncourt award) in 2018 for her book Un oeil au moins, and her most recent books are Chemoule, un chat français (P.O.L.) and Soixante-dix fantômes (choses vues).Jonathan Larson is a translator-poet living in Brooklyn. He teaches French and German at NYU Deutsches Haus and the Metropolitan Opera. The Song Cave has published his translations of Francis Ponge and Friederike Mayröcker, and Winter Editions his translation of Nathalie Quintane's The Cavalier in 2025. He is currently translating more Quintane, Tarkos, and Manuel Joseph, and completing a manuscript of his own.This is the second of two events featuring the French poet and her translator; join us in the same space on Tuesday, 10/27 from 5:00 PM–7:00 PM for a reading featuring the two.
