Opening Celebration for "Time, Fragmented"

CWAC Exhibitions (https://vrc.uchicago.edu/cwac-exhibitions) invites you to join curator Defne Ergöz and visiting artist Deniz Türkoğlu Hewes (https://www.denizturkogluhewes.com/) for the opening celebration of Time, Fragmented.  Enjoy a lovely spread, a toast, and an exhibition with walkthrough with the curator and artist. Time, Fragmented asks what it means for a place to be shaped by complex social and environmental histories, and how distinct but interrelated histories coalesce to create a collective narrative. Defne Ergöz brings together materials from a family collection, including postcards by İbrahim Selim Ergöz, as well as the Joel Synder Materials Collection (https://vrc.uchicago.edu/collections/joel-snyder-materials-collection) and ISAC Archives (https://isac.uchicago.edu/about-the-archives), placing them in conversation with contemporary photographs, sculptures, and ephemera from Deniz Türkoğlu Hewes.ImageDetail of Deniz Türkoğlu Hewes, Presence, 2026.
