All Hallows Eve, Chain O'Lakes State Park
Thursday, October 22
6:00 pm. Live Birds of Prey. Have a “beak to nose” educational experience with live birds of prey from Upper Wabash Interpretive Services Raptor Center. These permanently injured birds are ambassadors for their species because they would not survive in the wild. Don’t miss this chance to meet some of Indiana’s raptors up close and share a donation to support their care.
Friday, October 23
7:00 pm. All Hallows Eve Movies. Bring your blankets, sleeping bags, and lawn chairs for a couple of family-friendly Halloween movies. Popcorn provided as supplies last. Free-will cash donations are accepted to help fund future events.
Saturday, October 24
10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Treat Bag Decorating.We will have the bags, markers, stickers, and other supplies for you to use. (While supplies last)
12:00 pm. – 2:00 pm. Scavenger Hunt.Grab a scavenger hunt sheet for this family friendly scavenger hunt. Come and go event. Explore nature in the fall and enjoy decorations around the campground. Bring the completed sheet back for a small prize.
12:00 pm – 1:30 pm. Take‑and‑Make Craft Bags. Pre‑bagged Halloween crafts will be available for $1 or $2 each. Crafts are available while supplies last. Please bring cash if you would like to participate.
11:00 am. Entry DEADLINE for Campsite Decoration Contest.Register your campsite at the campground gatehouse “walk-up” window.
11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Hayrides.Rides are 15-20 minutes long and cost $2.00 per rider. Come and see the decorated campsites from the back of a hay wagon! The lastride will leave around 1:45pm. $2.00/rider, cash only please
Campground roads are closed to all vehicular traffic between 2:00 – 4:30 pm! Vehicles must be parked!
2:30 – 4:00 pm. Campground Trick-or-Treating. For costumed participants, please.
As always, check candy before allowing your child to eat it when it comes from strangers.
4:00 pm. Costume Parade and Contest. Categories include: Ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17+; Pets; Family group; Mixed group (friends, multiple families, etc.). Meets at Campground Interpretive Area . Prizes will be awarded in each category!
4:30 – 6:00 pm. Campsite Decoration Contest Judging.Be ready to show off your decorations! The judges will be coming around at this time to find the best decorated campsites. The winners will be posted at the campground gate by 7 pm and will be contacted by staff that evening with prizes. (Park management reserves the right to remove inappropriate decorations, please remember this is a family friendly event.)
Campers Choice Award: See your ballot with your check-in information. Votes must be turned into the campground gate by 5 pm on Saturday! Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Campers’ Choice!
