Intro to Wildlife Track & Sign | Eagle Creek

Join OC Assistant Manager Donna (Level II Certified Cybertracker North America) and Professional Wildlife Tracker, Sandy Reed, for an introduction to finding, identifying, and interpreting wildlife track & sign.

Discover the science of wildlife tracking and learn practical skills that will help you identify animal tracks and sign in your own backyard and beyond. No previous tracking experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to look more closely at the natural world.

The session will begin indoors with a presentation about the fundamentals of track identification. Participants will learn a systematic, science-based approach to recognizing and interpreting key track features—providing a practical framework that is easy to remember and can be applied confidently and accurately in the field.

Participants will be introduced to Tracker Certification North America (TCNA) and learn about opportunities to develop their skills and earn internationally recognized wildlife tracking certifications. In addition, we will share some of the best print and digital resources available for continuing your tracking education independently. The session will conclude with participants going outside to practice what they learned. Everyone will leave with a stronger understanding of how to approach track identification, practical resources for continued learning, and new ideas for incorporating wildlife tracking into their own educational programs and outdoor experiences.
