Art Exhibit: "Storied Views" by Jennifer Hauser
"Think of a finely manicured lawn that somehow has a singular weed blooming proudly in the center. It looks like something went wrong, but upon closer inspection the blooming weed is a home and the yard is a neighborhood with a robust group of characters, the ladybug, the ant, a squirrel and a rabbit. It is the child’s eye that inspects the broken patterns of our surroundings with a fanciful gaze and explores the possibilities behind the organized chaos. Escape to a childlike vision for a moment and imagine secret worlds with unlikely friends." —Jennifer Hauser
More about the artist
Jennifer Hauser is a Chicago-area ink and colored pencil artist. She grew up in northern Wisconsin as an avid doodler and moved to Chicago after high school to pursue a music degree in trumpet performance at DePaul University. After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Music, she stayed in Chicago and later enrolled in the University of Illinois at Chicago Master of Architecture program. Although she followed music and architecture, she never stopped drawing and creating. Those early doodles were the genesis of her drawings today.
