Memoir Writing with Jennifer Marx
This memoir workshop offers a supportive environment for writers of all experience levels. Each session focuses on an element of memoir writing and provides opportunities to write, share, and receive constructive feedback. The emphasis is on encouragement and practical suggestions rather than intensive or highly detailed workshop-style critique.
Exploring mature and challenging themes is acceptable in some ways. However, because the library is a shared public space, work shared aloud should avoid highly explicit content.
Participants with written material to share have the first opportunity to read, with readers rotating each session. As time permits, participants may also share story ideas. The instructor facilitates sharing and discussion to keep feedback focused on the writing. Questions about workshop procedures or appropriate material should be directed to the instructor.
Please bring a paper and a pen or an electronic device for writing.
