AI Explained and Demonstrated in Plain English
We're being told artificial intelligence may be the most important technology many of us will encounter in our lifetime. Yet most people still aren't sure what it is, how it works, what it can actually do, and what all the excitement, (and fear) is about.
In this interactive, discussion-based presentation, Richard Wilson will explain AI in plain English, answer questions about AI, and demonstrate what AI can do using real-world examples suggested by the audience. You'll see how AI can help with writing, planning, research, learning, and problem-solving, while also exploring important concerns such as privacy, deepfakes, scams, misinformation, and society's growing dependence on technology.
Along the way, we'll separate fact from fiction, explore some surprising capabilities, discuss where AI falls short, and look at both the opportunities and challenges this technology presents.
The goal isn't to convince you that AI is good or bad. It's to help you understand what it is, what it can do, what it can't do, and how to use it wisely.
