The Sailhouse Oyster Fest
This October, The Sailhouse puts its own waterfront spin on the season with Oyster Fest, a series of four Sunday afternoons of fresh oysters, seasonal cocktails, and live music on the banks of the Hudson River. Set against sweeping views of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, the festival pairs the laid-back marina atmosphere The Sailhouse is known for with the crisp air and autumn colors that draw visitors to the Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow area each fall.
Each Sunday brings a rotating lineup of oyster selections and specials, alongside seasonal cocktails, beer and wine tastings, and additional dishes from The Sailhouse kitchen. Competitive guests can test their speed in the oyster slurp-off contests, while live music sets the mood from start to finish, easing in with a relaxed waterfront vibe in the early afternoon and building in energy as the day goes on.
In true Sleepy Hollow fashion, the Headless Horseman will make special appearances throughout the series. Guests can also take to the river aboard PaddlePub cruises departing directly from Washington Irving Boat Club for a different view of the Hudson.
The Tiki Bar and stage area serve as the heart of the festivities, with casual seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who prefer a full sit-down meal can make a reservation at The Sailhouse, then head out to the waterfront to join the fun. It’s an easy addition to a fall day in the Historic Hudson River Towns, whether you’re here for the foliage, the historic sites, or the Halloween season.
