Amy Rigby
Singer-songwriter Amy Rigby brings songs and stories from her latest memoir Girl To Country to Little City Books.
"Amy Rigby's unfiltered self-portrait is a testament to friendship, the power of songs, the corrosive effects of bad boyfriends and the possibility of finding true love in middle age... a book about the sacrifices that come with chasing your dreams." — Jim Wirth, MOJO
"A rocking, rolling journey from new-wave New York, through Nashville, on to England... moving and very funny." — Nick Dalton, Record Collector
"Closer to Viv Albertine's Clothes, Music, Boys in its portrayal of the quotidian business of being a working musician and a mother in middle age... Happily, Rigby keeps on choogling." — Alastair McKay, UNCUT
A teenage denizen of CBGB who fell in love with country songwriting, Rigby started bands Last Roundup and the Shams in NYC’s East Village before launching a solo career with 90's classic concept album Diary Of A Mod Housewife. Her song Dancing With Joey Ramone is a staple on Little Steven's Underground Garage. She lives, writes and records in Catskill, New York with her husband and sometime bandmate Wreckless Eric, and tours regularly in the US and UK. Amy has contributed writing to the Village Voice, Talkhouse and Slate. Her first book, Girl To City: A Memoir was published in 2019. The second, Girl To Country, is out now.
