SEF 20th Annual Turkey Trot

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, the Turkey Trot has become a Thanksgiving Day tradition for Sparta and the surrounding community. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome, whether they plan to race the 5K, enjoy a walk with family and friends, or bring the kids out for the 1 Mile Fun Run.

The morning begins with the 1 Mile Fun Run at 8:15 AM, followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 8:45 AM. From serious runners to casual walkers, everyone is invited to join the fun and start Thanksgiving Day together before heading home for turkey, football, and all the festivities to come.

Best of all, participation supports a great local cause. Proceeds benefit the Sparta Education Foundation (SEF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching educational opportunities for students in the Sparta Township Public Schools. Funds raised through events like the Turkey Trot help SEF support innovative educational programs, projects, technology, and learning opportunities for Sparta students.

For 20 years, the Turkey Trot has been about more than crossing the finish line. It is about community, tradition, and giving back.

Come be part of the milestone celebration and experience the tradition before the tradition! 🦃💙
