Alexis Madrigal is an acclaimed multimedia journalist in Oakland, CA. He is the co-host of KQED’s current affairs show Forum, creator of the 8-part podcast Containers, author of the newsletter The Oakland Garden Club, and a contributing writer at The Atlantic, where he co-founded The COVID Tracking Project. His book The Pacific Circuit explores how a logistical revolution that began in Oakland has reshaped American cities. He is the proprietor of Local Economy, a community space in Oakland, and has been a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley’s School of Information and the Center for Science, Technology, Medicine & Society.
Adrian Daub is J.E. Wallace Sterling Professor in the Humanities at Stanford University, where he serves as the Faculty Director of the Clayman Institute for Gender Research. He is the author of What Tech Calls Thinking (2020) and The Cancel Culture Panic (2024), and writes for numerous US and European newspapers and magazines.
