An Evening of Poetry with Fady Joudah

Join us for a reading and conversation with Palestinian American physician, poet, and translator Fady Joudah. Joudah is the author of […]. He has also published seven other collections of poems: The Earth in the Attic; Alight; Textu, Footnotes in the Order of Disappearance; Tethered to Stars; and his newest collection: Exhibit G: Poems, Essays, and Photographs of Gaza (September 2026). Exhibit G is described as "a collection of poems, essays, and photographs that offer a Palestinian representation of not only the staggering grief, but the unwavering resilience and prevailing life force of a people and place enduring genocide."

Joudah has translated several collections of poetry from Arabic, including several works by Mahmoud Darwish, and he is the co-editor and co-founder of the Etel Adnan Poetry Prize. Winner of the Yale Younger Poets Prize, he has received the Jackson Poetry Prize, a PEN award, the Saif Ghobash Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation, the Griffin Poetry Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, Arab American Book Award, the Lenore Marshall Prize, and the American Book Award. He lives in Houston, with his wife and kids, where he practices internal medicine.
