Power, Art, + Practice with Prof. Matthew Morrison, Usha Iyer

The Institute for Diversity in the Arts invites you to an open class session of Intro to IDA: Power, Art, + Practice featuring Associate Professor in the Department of African and African American Studies, Matthew Morrison and Associate Professor of Art and Art History, Usha Iyer

Today we engage scholars working across disciplines – theater & performance, visual art, music, and film – in a conversation about their work, inside and outside of the university, and how it engages with themes: Power, Art, + Practice. We will use a version of the Long Table. format, inspired by the practice of the legendary queer + lesbian performance duo, Peggy Shaw and Lois Weaver, known as Split Britches to shape our discussion.
