Tech Movie Nights: Companion

In conjunction with the discussion of the short story "Liar" in Isaac Asimov's I, Robot, this year's Campus Read Book, join us for a viewing of Companion, the story of a devoted girlfriend who turns out to be programmed to love you, until she figures out how to rewrite her own code. Starring Sophie Thatcher as Iris, this science-fiction thriller forces us to ask questions about robots and emotional attachment, including the ethics of creating sentient actors who we THINK we can control. The movie is a wild ride as we watch Iris find her own own, bloody path toward self-fulfillment. And we'll have popcorn!
