
California Native Creations Art Show
**September is the 17th Annual Pomo Honoring Month.** On Monday, Sept. 14, the 6th California Native Creations Art Show opens Person Senior Wing, Finley Community Center, 2060 W. College Ave., Santa Rosa, CA. The show is free and open to the public Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., through November 19.
The established and up-and-coming native artists create with digital media, paint and traditional materials in their art, weaving, regalia, beadwork, jewelry, baskets and quilts. The artists include:
· Meyo Marrufo, painter, guest curator for the de Young Museum and the Sonoma Valley Art Museum,
· Buffie Campbell, Vice Chair, Sherwood Valley Rancheria, cultural teacher and master basket maker,
· Henry Edward Frank, *Yurok/Kashaya Pomo*, who will show paintings and work with Legos titled *Mind Prison,*
· Digital artist Nicolas (Nico) Vargas, *Kashia Band of Pomo Indians*, whose art was featured at the 55th Annual Stanford Powwow.
· plus Gloria Carretero; Rose Hammock; Rudy Hammock; Jocelyn Garcia; Arella Ortega LaRose, *Kashia Band of Pomo Indians*; Angelica Smith, *Manchester Point Arena and Yokayo Rancheria*; Maria Pasalo; Michelle Napoli; Martina Morgan, *Kashia Band of Pomo Indians*; Hands Lopez; Shashoni Hanover-Redenbaugh; Katie Williams-Elliott, Juan Partida, and Mia Pasalo, *Big Valley Pomo Tribe*.
