Andrea Brewster: Draft

Andrea Brewster's new body of work, Draft, begins with the structure of weaving: warp and weft, whose interlacing creates both fabric and grid. Drawing on weaving drafts, diagrams that act as pre-digital code, she treats the grid as a living structure open to variation, rhythm, and interruption. Though digitally constructed, the pieces retain a hand-drawn quality, exploring the tension between material and virtual, order and improvisation.
