Alex E.T.
Emerging from the California underground, The Alex E.T. Three is a Los Angeles trio built around songwriter and guitarist Alexandra Elaine Tapié (Alex E.T.) - a lean, high-voltage distillation of indie jangle and psychedelic flare with the melodic instincts of classic power pop. In the last year, The Alex E.T. Three has performed in support of the latest full-length album Color of Strange (Curation Records), recorded by championed engineer Eric Bauer (Ty Segall, Osees, Wand) and produced by Ethan Miller (Heron Oblivion, Howlin’ Rain, Comets on Fire). MOJO praised the album’s “soup of electric guitar howl and brooding intensity,” with producer Miller calling it “a rough-cut chunk of Los Angeles' grand musical myth in a bottle.” With Alex E.T. on vocals and guitar, Glenn Aucoin on drums, and Ryan Orvis on bass, the band is tighter, louder, and more focused than ever, working new and unreleased material into a continuously evolving live set. They recently played with Dead Meadow at Pappy & Harriet’s and have shared the stage with Primitive Ring, The Spyrals, Michael Beach, and Jessica Lea Mayfield. More West Coast dates and a new album are in the works.
