Zoe FitzGerald Carter: Album Release Show at Sweetwater in Mill Valley, w/Hannah Mayree

Bay Area author turned singer/songwriter Zoe FitzGerald Carter is thrilled to be returning to Sweetwater to celebrate the release of her new album, Chaos By Design, twelve tracks that explore the search for beauty and meaning in an increasingly chaotic world. She will be joined by her regular band - Brian Bloom, Dan Purtell and Andy Chamatz — as well as some local luminaries, including Sweetwater favorite Vicki Randle, who brought her powerhouse vocals to the album. Also appearing on the album — and opening the show — is local banjo phenom Hannah Mayree, who will also be sitting in with Zoe’s band. This is a not-to-be-missed night of new music, old friends, exciting musical collaboration and good vibes! Known for her deep honey voice and literary lyrics, award-winning author turned singer/songwriter Zoe FitzGerald Carter has been touring with her latest album, Before the Machine on both coasts since its release in 2024. Inspired by memories of a pre-smart phone world, the title track explores how technology, and specifically smart phones, has irrevocably altered our experience of time. The album showcases the artist’s vivid sense of language while weaving a rich fabric of folk, country, rock, blues and jazz. The title track won best song in the Corpus Christi Songwriters Contest and another song from the album, Let's Just Stay Friends, was voted best song by the International Acoustic Music Awards. Her music video for Before the Machine premiered on Americana Uk and was accepted into several international film festivals. “Like the chanteuses of the old-world musical halls & stages, Zoe sings with personality & self-assurance,“ writes John Apice in Americana Highways. "Her tone has authority, experience & character and she conceives poignant, well-distinguished tales with finesse.” She is excited to announce the her new album, Chaos By Design, is being released in mid-2026.
