VLSF & KCRW presents Late Again w/ Jiwon, Mirrorball, Veronicavon
Late Again
Late Again is the dream-pop project of Brazilian-born, Brooklyn-based artist Rafael Melo. Born and raised on the coast of São Paulo, Rafael found in New York City a home for his music. With his distinct background, Late Again combines the raw irony of the big city with the intimate textures of his home country to create a unique blend of dream pop.
Mirrorball
Mirrorball is a Los Angeles duo making nostalgic pop steeped in longing and a distinctly West Coast sense of place. Frequent collaborators with producer Chris Coady (Beach House, Slowdive) their melodic sound blends the romantic dream pop of Mazzy Star and The Sundays with the lush psychedelic textures of Broadcast and Air.
Jiwon
New York City-based artist and producer Jiwon makes genre-bending music that blends alternative pop, electronic production, and introspective songwriting. Drawing from influences like Lou Reed and Jai Paul, his music moves freely between genres while maintaining a distinctive, personal sound.
veronicavon
Los Angeles duo veronicavon makes dreamy, lo-fi pop filled with fuzzy synths, warbling guitars, wistful melodies, and a lovesick sense of nostalgia. Formed by songwriters Chris Hackman and Xuan Nguyen, their sound blends bedroom-pop intimacy with shimmering electronic textures.
Mirrorball is dream pop with a faded West Coast glow. The Los Angeles–based duo blends lush psych pop and vintage songwriting instincts, crafting songs that drift between candlelit melancholy and gauzy, analog warmth.
Their debut single, released on Dangerbird Records, sparked a collaboration with producer Chris Coady (Beach House, DIIV), and their music has since earned support from Spotify editorial, David Dean Burkhart, and 88.9 KXLU.
Described by Grimy Goods as “two dream heads burning rubber down Los Angeles freeways,” Mirrorball formed after years orbiting each other in LA’s underground indie scene.
They’re currently preparing to release their next single, “The Hour.”
