Soul Brass Band is the brainchild of drummer, emcee, and New Orleans cultural force Derrick “Smoker” Freeman, blending second line tradition with hip hop grit, deep funk, and streetwise soul. Their performances flip every stage into a block party—blurring the line between concert and carnival.

Soul Brass Band delivers a fresh interpretation of the brass band canon—infusing deep street rhythms with jazz stylings, soul sounds, and Freeman’s magnetic stage presence.

Whether leading a second line parade, igniting a hotel rooftop, or headlining a cultural showcase, Soul Brass Band brings the heartbeat of New Orleans to every event.
