Friends of the Mission Inn Fall Silent Movie
Step back into the Golden Age of the Silent Screen at the historic Mission Inn Hotel & Spa for a special afternoon featuring the classic 1920 silent-film thriller Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, starring John Barrymore. This atmospheric presentation brings the drama of early cinema to life with a live accompaniment on the historic Kimball Pipe Organ, performed by organist William Zeiller. The program will also include the 1910 Edison Studio presentation of Frankenstein, a 12-minute silent-film short.
Join the Friends of the Mission Inn in the Grand Parisian Ballroom on Saturday, October 24. Doors open at 12:00 PM, with the program beginning at 1:00 PM. Costumes are encouraged, and guests can enjoy free popcorn, water and iced tea, a photo booth, a silent auction and opportunity drawing, plus a no-host bar in the Glenwood Tavern. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door, available through the Friends of the Mission Inn website and Eventbrite.
