Jason Moran Presents Duke Ellington: My Heart Sings

**Ellington Then—and Always**

Pianist and composer Jason Moran engages in a creative dialogue with one of America’s greatest musical voices: Duke Ellington. Joined by Pacific Symphony, Moran reframes Ellington’s work through a contemporary lens, revealing its sophistication, swing, and emotional depth on a symphonic scale. Rather than preserving Ellington in amber, Moran treats the music as a living body—open to reinterpretation, expansion, and surprise. This performance represents the “Then” of the season, not as history, but as an enduring source of inspiration that continues to shape American music today.
