Technology Brought Us Here, Now What?

Part of the 2026-27 UWSP College of Letters & Science Community Engagement Series Truth, Trust and Technology: Information in the Age of AI

Join UW-Stevens Point for **Technology Brought Us Here, Now What?** in the Dreyfus University Center Laird Room. The program is the first event in the year-long Truth, Trust and Technology: Information in the Age of AI series. The College of Letters and Science public engagement series launches on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m.

Artificial Intelligence has made it challenging to believe what you see. In daily life, we navigate slop videos, deepfakes and AI-generated evidence. What role do humans play in our current environment? How do we protect ourselves?

Guests will include Chad Johnson, associate professor in Computing and New Media Technologies.

This event is free, but participants are encouraged to register by October 22, 2026 at midnight to guarantee seating!
