Rockin' Doc Film Series at the Dr. James Carlson Library

Join us for screenings of three documentaries featuring influential artists and genres in rock and roll. The free screenings start at 10 a.m. at the Dr. James Carlson Library. A short discussion will follow each film. Free popcorn, too. Adults must accompany children age 9 and younger. Dates and titles in the series: October 10: "How They Got Over: Gospel Quartets and the Road to Rock & Roll" \(2020\) 86 minutes How They Got Over celebrates the spirit of gospel performers and how they helped usher in a musical revolution that changed the world forever. October 17: "Fanny: The Right to Rock" \(2021\) 96 minutes The untold story of a Filipina American garage band that morphed into the ferocious rock group Fanny, who almost became the female Beatles. October 24: "Fargo Rocks" \(2006\) 87 minutes Fargo Rocks chronicles the rich rock and roll history of the Fargo-Moorhead area from the late 1950s up to the 2000s.
