Tell Me A Story - Community
What does community mean to you? It can be a neighborhood, a specific place people gather, a hobby, a way of communicating, or a past experience – anything that is shared.
It’s in those connections that we form our sense of community, where we lean on each other and learn from one another. Tell us your story of how you found or lost your sense of community.
Doors open at 7:00. Storytelling begins at 7:30. Admission is free. Cocktails will be available for purchase from River Rock Coffee & Tea.
All events are recorded, and participants have the option of allowing content to be broadcast on KMSU Radio at a later date.
HOW IT WORKS:
Throw your name in the hat if you'd like to share a story inspired by the theme (up to five minutes). No prior submission required. Storytellers of all experience levels are welcome. Or, simply sit back and enjoy the unique stories that will be shared by your fellow community members.
NEW:
As part of our grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, your hosts will start the event by sharing some of what they learned from a four-part Intermediate Storytelling Class taken at the American School of Storytelling in Minneapolis.
We will also share tips and tricks leading up to the event, so keep your eyes on this event page for some pointers as you ponder the story you might share with us.
