Financial Capability and Asset Building Innovations for the Financial Well-Being Ecosystem will bring together social work scholars and educators from around the globe to develop a broad agenda for advancing financial security and inclusion. Contributions to this event will inform development of research, policy, and practice agendas in the United States and other countries.

The convening will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2027, in San Francisco, CA, one day before the start of the 2027 a nnual conference of the Society for Social Work and Research.

The organizers invite scholarly abstracts to papers assessing structural factors that can inform policy and practice on financial capability and asset building in the financial well-being ecosystem. Selected papers will be presented during breakout sessions. Submissions are due by October 2, 2026. Learn more about topics of interest, submission guidelines, and the convening.
