Houdini in Detroit

Join Jeremy Dimick of the Detroit Historical Society to learn more about Harry Houdini and how Detroit is a prominent connection to his life...And death.

Detroit was a regular stop on Harry Houdini’s tour schedule. Over the course of his career, Houdini played hundreds of cities all over the world. Detroit, however, was the stage for both his final stage performance and his untimely and shocking death. Additionally, the circumstances of and reactions to his 19 appearances in Detroit also reflect, in miniature, the trajectory of his career as a whole.

Join the discussion just in time to honor the 100th anniversary of his last act!
