The Riverside Sing

Autumn season of our 10-week community choir, The Riverside Sing, at the Carnegie Center in Columbia-Tusculum starts 9/14. This all-comer, easy-going, singing-for-joy gathering begins on Monday, September 14th and runs on Monday evenings through November 16th from 7:00 - 8:15. Join us!

There are no auditions, no attendance expectations, no performances that might create urgency and demands, and no sheet music to read. Every song is taught by ear, with singers echoing back what the song-leader shares, using the oral tradition technique as old as singing itself.

With ages ranging from early 20s to the mid-80s, the intergenerational nature of the community brings with it a wide range of interests and experiences. Ultimately, everyone joins in the songs and leaves energized and happier than when they arrived. It’s been a real joy to watch strangers become friends over the course of our weeks of singing together.
