DAYTON, OHIO— The British Transportation Museum is having its Tenth Annual Chili Cookoff on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 321 Hopeland Ave. Prizes will be awarded for best overall chili, people’s choice, and best vegetarian chili.
“Enter your favorite chili or come enjoy the recipes of others,” said Jimmy Dean, BTM president. “There will be trophies, gift baskets and bragging rights for the winners.”
Proceeds will benefit the building fund at the only all-volunteer 501 (c3) educational, non-profit museum in the United States dedicated to the preservation of British-built transportation vehicles. The collection includes all forms of British transportation – including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles – and especially the British-made vehicles that have been used in the United States.
Salad, bread, and cheese are included in the price of admission. Tickets are $10. For tickets, more info, or to enter the cookoff contact Jimmy Dean at [email protected] or 989-255-1384. Deadline to enter is Oct. 18.
The British Transportation Museum, at 321 Hopeland St. in Dayton’s Carillon Park neighborhood, is open Saturdays and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and other days by appointment. Admission is by donation. BTM is rated at 4.5 out of 5 on Trip Advisor. Visit the museum’s website at britishtransportationmuseum.org.
