Major Fair 2026

The Major Fair is a drop-in event where students, especially first-years and sophomores, can explore all of Macalester's academic departments in one place ahead of spring registration. Faculty and/or current majors will be at department tables to answer questions about coursework, requirements, and what studying that major is actually like, helping students make more informed decisions before they register for spring classes. We've intentionally scheduled the fair about two weeks before spring registration opens on November 9. Our hope is that students, especially first-years who are still finding their way, can discover departments and majors they may not have considered yet, while there is still time to add an intro course to their spring schedule. For departments, this could also be a great opportunity to connect with curious students and invite them to a follow-up open house or info session the week after the fair, right before registration begins.
