Well, That Appeals to Me
Sherry Wynn Perdue, Ph.D., is a scholar, educator, and civic leader who studies how people use language to learn, persuade, and participate in public life. Through her leadership and scholarly work, she contributes to national conversations about generative Al and how people evaluate information. She also bridges K-12 and higher education as an Advanced Placement consultant and school board trustee. Her board service and current campaign to retain her seat have made political rhetoric personal. Experiencing campaign communication from the inside has sharpened her focus on how messages frame people and issues, how emotion and repetition shape attention, and how individualized media lets neighbors see very different portraits of the same candidates.
