5th Annual Angel Investor Summit

Startup economist Paul O’Brien and Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day founder Monica Nassif will be the keynote speakers at the fifth annual Iowa Angel Investor Summit on November 17 at the Krause Gateway Center in downtown Des Moines.

The event, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will bring together investors, entrepreneurs and startup leaders for panel discussions, presentations and lightning talks focused on angel investing and entrepreneurship. O’Brien, author of “Startup Ecosystems,” will discuss how investors can help develop founders, strengthen deal flow and create greater economic impact. Nassif, who grew Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day to more than 20,000 stores before its acquisition by SC Johnson in 2008, will share her perspective on building and scaling a company and developing a national brand. A pre-summit workshop covering the fundamentals of angel investing will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16. The workshop is free with registration for the summit, which is organized by Plains Angels and the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
