Make a day of it at America’s Harvest Festival and the Historical Museum on Saturday, Oct. 24!
Heading to America’s Harvest Festival? Make a stop at the State Historical Museum of Iowa, just across the street from the festivities! We’re extending our hours until 6 p.m. with plenty of ways to explore Iowa’s history before, during, or after the festival.
State Historical Museum of Iowa | 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
America’s Harvest Festival | 1 p.m.-dusk | Iowa Capitol Complex
Admission to the festival, museum, and all museum activities is free!
Start your day with:
10 a.m.-12 p.m. | Goldie’s Halloween Bash
Bring the kiddos in costume for a morning of crafts, games, activities, trick-or-treat stations, and more. No registration required!
Then, explore the museum throughout the afternoon:
2, 3 & 4 p.m. | Museum Highlights Tours
Join us for a one-hour guided tour featuring popular stops throughout the museum and stories of the people, places, and events that shaped Iowa.
9 a.m.-3 p.m. | Research Center
Stop in to see Iowa’s rare 1837 William Stone print of the Declaration of Independence.
1 p.m.-dusk | America’s Harvest Festival
Just across the street, enjoy live entertainment, historical reenactments, family activities, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, food, shopping, and more!
