
Creative Writing Series: Lydia Mathis
The UT Creative Writing Program is excited to present a reading by novelist Lydia Mathis. The reading will take place Monday, February 1 at 7pm in the Lindsay Young Auditorium of John C. Hodges Library on the UT Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Lydia Mathis is the author of Desperate Bodies (Roxane Gay Books, 2026). She has an MFA in fiction from New York University. She earned her BA in English Literature with a minor in Classical Civilizations from Agnes Scott College. She was the recipient of A Public Space’s 2023 Editorial Fellowship and is currently an assistant editor at A Public Space. She has stories published in North American Review, Southeast Review, Torch Magazine, Stanchion, and Five on the Fifth. She is based in Atlanta, GA.
