Folias Duo—flutist-composer Carmen Maret and guitarist-composer Andrew Bergeron—is a composer–performer ensemble celebrated for blending classical, jazz, world music, and improvisation into a singular artistic voice. Their album *Great Lakes* draws inspiration from the landscapes, cultures, and rhythms of North America’s Great Lakes region, continuing the duo’s exploration of deeply expressive flute-and-guitar music.
Over two decades, Folias Duo has performed more than 700 concerts worldwide, presenting a rich repertoire of over 70 original works, including multi-flute combinations and West African tambin.
As dedicated educators, Maret and Bergeron mentor musicians at all levels, sharing their approach to craft, creativity, and musical independence. Their artistry reflects a deeply intentional, independent model—emphasizing intimate venues, sustainable touring, and DIY production rooted in craftsmanship, community, and connection.
