The Life of Death | Kim Kenney with the McKinley Museum
Delve into the history and culture of death and dying. Join McKinley Museum's Executive Director Kim Kenney as she explores how the meaning of death and death rituals have changed over time.
Cultures around the world handle death very differently, from the sentimental to the macabre. This new program will trace the history of sky burial, cremation, green burial, embalming, superstitions regarding the deceased, and more. We will also look at the professionalization of the funeral industry and how it has shaped our view of what it means to die.
