In its 15 years together, The Tierney Sutton Band has received a Grammy Nomination for Best Vocal Jazz Album, a JazzWeek Award for Vocalist of the year, plus consecutive nominations from The Jazz Journalist Association. The band’s Cds consistently top the US Jazz radio charts. Still, the band’s greatest accomplishment is its continuing commitment to unity, excellence and creative collaboration. Made up of vocalist Tierney Sutton and instrumental virtuosos Christian Jacob, Trey Henry, Kevin Axt and Ray Brinker, The Tierney Sutton Band is a meeting of creative equals. All musical arrangements as well as business decisions are made by the band members as full partners. According to one review after another, the result is obvious in the music: “phenomenal rapport”...“telepathic give and take” ... “an uncanny display of spirit and unity”...”top-flight one and all”...”total connection”...”first class”...”a seamless blend with superlative bandmates”...”the chemistry is palpable”.
