Willy Porter
Guitarist, singer & songwriter, Willy Porter, will be joined by cellist & vocalist Mai Bloomfield (Jason Mraz/Raining Jane) singer/percussionist Carmen Nickerson and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Pearl for this show. The quartet will perform Porter’s critically acclaimed Immersive recording, Humans in a Room, in its entirety as well as venturing into new material and catalog work. Immersive Audio Album picked Humans In A Room as a top pick for a Grammy nomination this year having this to say about the project: “Willy Porter’s Humans In A Room is the gorgeous result of a collaboration between four musicians, a microphone company, and a shared desire to record as simply as possible while giving the end listener a seat in the middle of the recording session.” Willy Porter is a contemporary American folk musician from Wisconsin. His career as a published singer began in 1990 with his album, The Trees Have Soul, although his popularity began in 1994 with his album Dog Eared Dream, which had the successful single Angry Words, and led to his touring as an opening act for artists including Tori Amos and The Cranberries. Recently, Porter opened for Jethro Tull, where he formed a friendship with Tull's guitarist, Martin Barre.
