WyCo Lake Hiking Club
Join us at the Mr. & Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library for the WyCo Lake Hiking Club. We will meet once a month (excluding June and July) on the Fourth Thursday at the library to gather for our hike. Each month, we will pick a different trail at the Wyandotte County Lake to try. Some trails may be within walking distance, while others may require us to drive to the trailhead. Restrooms may not be available during the hike, but are available at the library.
Participants should wear appropriate clothing for hiking, such as:
- long sleeves
- pants
- long socks
- shoes with good support and tread
Please bring with you:
- a water bottle
- sunscreen
- bug spray
- a light snack
- a hat
- a backpack (if needed)
Trails will not be paved and are not ADA accessible. Participants should expect the hike to be physically challenging and will require walking up and down steep and/or unsteady terrain for a minimum of 2 miles. Participants should expect to encounter bugs, mud, other hikers, and/or wildlife on the trail. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
This is an adults-only program. Advanced registration required. This program could be cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
