Save Your Story, One Photo at a Time | Salva Tu Historia, Una Foto a la Vez

Join us to learn about taking care of your personal collections, preserving Kansas Latino history, and LPL's DIY Memory lab! Rebekah Ramos, Curator of Latina/o Collections at KU's Spencer Research Library, will start by sharing best practices to save your personal collections, the history of Latinos in Kansas, and why it's important to preserve this history for future generations. Then hear about LPL's DIY Memory Lab from Melissa Fisher Isaacs, Adult Services Supervisor at Lawrence Public Library, and the free resources available at the library to help you get jump started on a personal collections project. We'll finish with a 'show and tell' activity, so make sure to bring at least ONE photograph or other item meaningful to your family’s history (journal entry, ticket stub, handkerchief etc.) to share with the group!
