Rebecca Roanhorse’s “River of Bones and Other Stories”

Have an appetite for science fiction but don't have time to delve into another space opera? Join us every second Monday of the month to discuss the novellas and short story collections of award-winning sci-fi authors. Through this book club's offerings of stories, readers will explore a range of topics, from androids to time travel, from classic to Indigenous sci-fi. Interested participants are welcome to pick up their copies of this month’s book at Divoll.

For November, we’re reading River of Bones and Other Stories, a collection of sci-fi and fantasy by Rebecca Roanhorse. The collection opens with her classic short story, “Welcome to Your Authentic Indian Experience,” includes a mix of newer stories, and, for fans of Roanhorse’s Sixth World series, closes with a novelette set in that universe. This collection is a perfect read for Native American Heritage Month.
