The Rev. Jimmie Bratcher: Under The Bridge - 1st & Grand ST

As the sun starts to drop, we gather under the bridge at First & Grand for a night of blues-rock-gospel music and a message of hope with our unhoused neighbors who live nearby. This is us doing what we do—loud guitars, honest songs, real stories, and a word that meets the moment. Music echoes off the concrete, people lean in, and hope finds a place to land. It’s not polished. It’s not staged. It’s real life, shared in real time. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply show up. If you want to be part of something that matters, come join us. Bring a friend. Stay awhile. Be present. Starts at 6:00 PM Location: Under the bridge at First & Grand Street Hosted by The Worship Wagon. When you ask Jimmie Bratcher to describe what he does, his response is always the same. “I have The Ministry of Showing Up”, and that’s exactly what he does. Jimmie and his wife Sherri show up in churches, at music venues, in prisons, at biker rallies, and with the homeless. They can be found with Saints and Sinners alike doing what they do, “Preaching The Gospel & Playing The Blues”. Jimmie is an inspiring preacher and a world-renowned blues guitarist, singer-songwriter, and author, with a distinct ability to connect with people on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The Bratchers destroyed their marriage through their own selfishness and substance abuse, yet God had another plan. A year after their divorce was final, they began to see each other again, and though it made no sense, they decided to re-marry. They stumbled into a little country church in Northwest Missouri unannounced with a marriage license on a Sunday night and the only way the pastor would marry them was if they gave their lives to Jesus. Both were transformed that night and have followed Jesus ever since. Jimmie & Sherri consider their greatest accomplishments to be their 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Jimmie’s newest album, Far Enough, released in 2023, peaked at #2 on “The Roots Music Report Top 50 Blues-Rock Albums Chart. A global chart compiled on International radio airplay.
