Vanderbilt Reading Series: Victoria Redel, Fiction

The Gertrude C. & Harold S. Vanderbilt Reading Series will host Victoria Redel, author of the 2025 novel "I Am You." Join us for the literary salon at 6:30 p.m. in the first-floor lounge, followed by the reading at 7 p.m. and the book signing at 8 p.m., both of which will be held in the second-floor lecture hall. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available on the street and in paid lots in the area.Redel is the author of four books of poetry and six books of fiction. Her debut novel, "Loverboy"(2001) was adapted for a feature film directed by Kevin Bacon. Redel's short stories, poetry and essays have appeared inGranta, The New York Times,theLos Angeles Times,Bomb,Oand NOON,among many others. She has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Fine Arts Work Center. Redel is a professor in the graduate and undergraduate Creative Writing programs at Sarah Lawrence College and lives in New York and Utah.The Gertrude C. and Harold S. Vanderbilt Reading Series is named in honor of Vanderbilt founder Cornelius Vanderbilt's great-grandson and his wife. Each semester, the series brings several professional writers to campus to read from their works and visit classes.
