Ancient Native Peoples of the Bluegrass

Go beyond the myths and explore the history of Kentucky’s ancient Native Peoples in this fascinating presentation on the Native history of Central Kentucky. Drawing on archaeological research and artifacts found at sites throughout the region, we’ll explore Native lifeways, how they changed over time, and what archaeology can tell us about the people who called Kentucky home long before the arrival of non-Native settlers. Special attention will be given to archaeological sites right here in Madison County.
