Nat'l Disability Emp Month Presentation

It’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month!

- Do you know how common disabilities are?

- What qualifies as a disability?

- What are the benefits of hiring people with disabilities?

- Are you prepared to navigate the hiring process as a job seeker?

- How would an employer effectively recruit people with disabilities?

Join us for answers to these questions. Bring a friend or coworker!

This event is appropriate for members of the public who want to educate themselves about disabilities, disabled persons who are navigating or curious about the job market, employers who want to know more, and anyone else who is interested!

We will discuss different types of disabilities and ways to support employees in the workplace. Finding the right employee for the right job can be challenging. Too often people with disabilities are not considered when identifying the necessary skills to a job. Come learn how tapping into this talent pool can support your business.

Everyone who attends will be eligible for a drawing for a free gift basket!

Presenter Terri Robbins is the Community Services Director at Disability Network Mid-Michigan. Mrs. Robbins is a certified ADA Coordinator and member of the National ADA Trainer Leadership Network. She has worked for and with people with disabilities for four decades and is a passionate advocate.
